Processing Timelines

Typical processing times and disbursement cadence at Solano. Times are averages and may vary with season, staffing, or missing documents.

Incomplete or unsigned forms can’t be processed.

They return to the queue based on the date a complete version is submitted. Keep your address updated with Admissions & Records to avoid delays.

How funds move from application to disbursement
  1. Submit FAFSA / CADAA & Docs
    FAFSA packaging: 10–17 days

Check MySolano and email for required documents. If selected, complete ProVerifier items promptly.

  2. Appeals & Waivers (as applicable)
    7–14 days

SAP appeals, dependency overrides, CCPG/CalVet, etc., are reviewed first-come, first-served.

  3. Grants & Loans Post
    Cal Grants/Chafee/loans: 7–14 days

First-time Direct Loan borrowers may see disbursement up to 30 days after term start.

  4. Disbursement & Refund
Most Mondays • arrival next week

Weeks with Monday holidays may skip a run. See the Disbursement Page for dates.

📘 Pell Grants (Fall/Spring)

Awarded at term start, disbursed twice: at the beginning and around the midpoint. For exact dates, contact the Financial Aid Office.

🎓 Cal Grants & SSCG

Cal Grants typically by the 4th week. SSCG follows after Cal Grants post.

🏦 Direct Loans

First-time borrowers: disbursement may not occur until 30 days after term start. Returning borrowers follow standard cadence.

What to Do While You Wait

  • Keep your address current with Admissions & Records.
  • Check MySolano and your email regularly for updates and new document requests.
  • If selected for verification, monitor the ProVerifier portal.
  • If considering fewer than 6 units, talk to the Financial Aid Office first—COA may be reduced.
  • If your enrollment drops below the level you were awarded for, your aid may be reduced and/or require repayment. See Title IV Repayment.
